CHIRIMBA LOCAL SOAP MANUFACTURING

Chirimba Local Soap Manufacturing is a manufacturing enterprise founded by Precious Nkhata and Arnold Smart as partners to produce affordable, quality tablet/bar soap for households, small businesses and institutions. The business will be based in Chirimba Township, Blantyre, with Chirimba and surrounding communities as its initial market before gradually expanding across Blantyre and other parts of Malawi.

Soap is an essential product used repeatedly by households and businesses, creating a strong opportunity for a reliable local supplier. Our business will manufacture, package, brand and distribute soap locally, focusing on affordability, consistent quality and availability.

From seed money we got from Young builders challenge season 1, we purchased two soap moulding equipment units at MK120,000 as initial investment. This means the project has already moved beyond the idea stage and has an initial production asset. We are seeking MK3,000,000 in catalytic funding to complete the production setup, purchase raw materials and safety materials, establish operations, launch the product and build production capacity.

As the business grows, we aim to create employment and practical skills opportunities for young people while building a sustainable Malawian manufacturing brand.
